Augusta Aviation, Inc. Joins Georgia’s Workplace Partnership for Life to Create Awareness about Donation
GEORGIA – Augusta Aviation, Inc. has recently joined Georgia’s Workplace Partnership for Life. As part of the Workplace Partnership for Life, Augusta Aviation, Inc. has made a commitment to communicate information about donating life to their employees. Nationally, more than 1,000 Workplace partners have joined the effort to create awareness about organ, tissue, marrow and blood donation and to educate their employees about the urgent need for donors. The Workplace Partnership for Life is Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson’s National Gift of Life Donation Initiative to recruit potential organ, tissue, marrow and blood donors by creating awareness about the need for donation in the work environment. Workplace Partners create awareness through outreach activities that include presentations, articles in company newsletters, distributing brochures and by sponsoring blood drives, marrow drives, or organ/tissue donor card signing events. Currently, there are more than 90,000 people on the national waiting list for a life-saving organ. More than 1,300 of those waiting live in Georgia.
